Summer Hill Seven[]

Summer Hill Seven (SH7) is the author of SQUIRCULAR: An Actor's Tale!, the final book in the Poemedy Trilogy; and the director of The Poemedy Project, a hip-hop theatrical documentary film about education in America. SH7 is a neoteric performer, hip-hop theatrical artist, theatre director, and educator who has interpreted the works of Shakespeare, Shaw, Langston Hughes, Frederick Douglass, Laurence Holder, Athol Fugard, August Wilson, Suzan-Lori Parks, Arthur Miller, Charles Fuller et al., at some of the countries greatest theaters - including Lincoln Center, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Asolo, The Arsht Center, and the National Black Theatre. He recently co-adapted and performed Langston Hughes’ Simple Tales for the world premiere of the Jesse B. Simple Suite for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis which debuted new music by trombonist Vincent Gardner. The following spring he was again non-traditionally cast in a major role in a great play: Charley in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman directed by Ethan McSweeney with Stephen Pelinski in the title role.
